The Guru Stick has been a staple of 2K basketball for years now

So whether NBA 2K21 MT is your first time playing against the CPU in Quick Play, messing around with your buddies in the Park, or fighting at a high stakes Ante Up or competitive Pro-Am game, there's a vast assortment of gameplay experiences and definitely something for everyone in NBA 2K21. So to sum up this segment, I do not actually have a fancy back of the box marketing name for the work that went into gameplay balance and"fun-ifying" the on-court encounter, but I am pretty certain that longtime lovers of 2K basketball will notice the improvements and love what the team was able to achieve.

The Guru Stick has been a staple of 2K basketball for years now, and for the most part, has gone unchanged. For NBA 2K21, we watched this to freshen up the game on the offensive end. In games, the Pro Stick could be held by you in any way. That was limiting us from utilizing the right stick as a fully featured dribble stick. So we are making a pretty substantial change to the Pro Stick works. With this shift, we have managed to greatly extend the dribble move arsenal and give you access to more moves in a more intuitive control scheme.

After a game or 2, it will feel instant nature and will have you breaking ankles in no time! Together with the remap, the moves themselves happen to be overhauled to be significantly more responsive and chain-able. Street moves are moved into a tap of the left trigger also, which means you won't be shooting off them by accident when you are breaking down defenders at the Park. And for the NBA size-ups, we've added several new signatures such as Harden's round the leg dribble, a fresh version of Kobe's dancing, and Durant's patented hesi cross.

Still another NBA legend, Nate Robinson, arrived for motion capture this season and gave us some very unique moves that I'll leave that you locate also. You can also perform size-up dribbles on the move by holding the Guru Stick Up and with the left stick to move your player in almost any way. Altogether, you may select from a list of 14 Park and 36 unique NBA Size-ups. When you factor in all the 1-to-1 size-up bundles and new customizable escape dribbles, there's no limit to the types of combos you can pull away in NBA 2K21.

Dribble moves were not the one thing which benefited from the Guru Stick upgrade. Bound shooting and finishing at the rim have been points of emphasis. We really wanted to make scoring the basketball an art both from the perimeter and in the bottom, so we brainstormed and prototyped a number of different shooting mechanics for this year's game. What we settled on was an idea conceptually similar to something we tried in NBA 2K17... Shot Stick Aiming. Aiming didn't really work that well in NBA 2K17 since it was a bit buried, didn't have much skill built into it, and didn't provide the user any comments. We took those learnings and used them to create a much better alternative this time around.

To get NBA 2K21, if you take with the Pro Stick, the shooter meter varies from a timing bar to a targeting system. So instead of attempting to block the shot meter when you get to the perfect release window, then you adjust the Pro Stick instantly to reach the perfect center aim point. The target window resizes dynamically based on player skill, shooting range, and how well the shooter is contested and may also change into the left or right depending on the shot's level of difficulty. If you miss the goal too far to the right or left, your shot will miss in that way. And as I mentioned above with the newest slider sets, even the slightest degree may be the distinction between a create and also an Buy NBA 2K MT Coins airball on Hall of Fame, while it is quite a bit more forgiving on the easier issues.
