Re: Alesis Masterlink users
I use it to record my session work in real time. I also bounce finished songs to it for storage and to burn to CD. I use the mastering tools on the finished songs. Just bouncing down to the masterlink tightens up the sound of my tracks. I don't know why tho. It just does. It really tightens up the bass and makes the track sound less muddy.
Re: Alesis Masterlink users
wouldn't the track be overly compressed tho? assuming your going to hand it to a studio engineer to work on
Re: Alesis Masterlink users
I am a studio engineer. I don't hand my tracks to anyone. But you wouldn't give a mix engineer a bounced down copy of your song. They cen't do anything with that. They need the session file or at least the individual tracks to the song on a disc. There's not much use for this device as a musician or artist. I use it as a mix engineer.
Re: Alesis Masterlink users
i use it for storage for myself and for mixdowns when im working with other artists.
